A few months ago I got a message from Kristin (an old friend from S. Florida) while I was at my office in Colorado shooting a weekend wedding. She told me she was engaged to a marine (Rob), and asked if I would be interested in shooting her engagement photos. She then continued to ask if I would be willing to travel to Washington, D.C to do them. (Rob proposed under the Washington Monument) “Are you kidding me?”, I said in my head. I think it took me less than 10 seconds for me to respond with “YES OF COURSE!!!” She then told me we would be shooting during D.C.'s peak Cherry Blossom Weekend. I accepted her proposition very quickly, and before I knew it I was on a plane from Nashville (my home) to DC.
We woke up bright and early Saturday, April 11th, along with a few other thousand tourists, and did some D.C. strolling. The morning light came out quickly, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The next day I headed to the Washington Monument to time-lapse a little, and decided to see if Kristin and Rob wanted to tag along for a few more photos. We did, and once again the light and the cherry blossoms were awesome. I'll keep this short, since I am about to share a ton of photos...I can't thank Kristin and Rob enough for having me out. There isn't much I love more than taking photos of happy people, and lucky for me--traveling is a close second.
Looking forward to shooting K&R's wedding in Annapolis this summer. Rob you are the man! Thank you for serving this country, and treating my old friend with so much respect and love. Hope everyone enjoys this one!
Cheers!
